Profile of Koji Izukura

In 1952,Born in Yamashiro-onsen, Kaga City,Ishikawa.
In 1974 Dropped from Kanazawa Kogyo University(Mechanical Engineering Depart-ment).
In 1975,Started studying under my father,Masayasu Izukuara.
In 1984,Selected for the first time for Issuikai Ceramics Exhibition.
In 1985,Was selected as a work of distinction for Issuikai Ceramics Exhibition.
In 1986,Was awarded the Inosuke Hazama Incentive Prize for Issuikai Ceramics Exhibition.
In 1988,Was selected for the first time for Japan’s New Crafts Exhibition with the square dish “Soshunfu”and awarded the Tenth Anniversary Commemorative Prize.
In 1990,Was selected for Japan’s New Crafts Exhibition and the octagonal dish “Shuen”was purchased by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In 1991,Was selected for the first time for the Nitten Exhibition with the flower vase“Yurizu(lilies).” I have been selected ever since.
In 1991,Dedicated the colored large plate “Kaga-no-No” to Sugouisibe Shrine in Daishoji,kaga.
In 1992,Was selected for Japan’s New Crafts Exhibition and the square dish “Shobuzu(irises)”won the NHK President Prize.
In 1992,Received the teachings of Yoshiyuki Chosa on beautiful soul.
In 1992,Dedicated the colored dish “Shobuzu” to Ise Jingu Shrine commemorating my 40th birthday.
In 1999,Broadcast in the program “Koji Izukura Talking about Kutani Colored Ceramics”from NHK Kanazawa Station.
In 2004,Was selected for Japan’s New Crafts Exhibition and the square dish “Shade of Trees” was purchased by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In 2006,Was appointed a judge for Japan’s New Crafts Exhibition.(Also ’10,’12,’14)
In 2010,Was awarded a “Work of Distinction” Prize for Japan’s New Crafts Exhibition for the saucer dish “Hasuike-Koei(lotus-pond).”
In 2011,Was awarded the Ishikawa Prefecture Governor Prize for the saucer dish “Shoka(Early Summer) at Japan’s New Crafts Exhibition,Ishikawa.
In 2012,Was awarded a “Work of Distinction” Prize for Japan’s New Crafts Exhibition for the saucer dish “Kizuna(Bond).”
In 2012,Dedicated the colored bowl “Koyozu(Autumn Leaves)” to Ise Jingu Shrine to commemorate my 60th birthday.
In 2013,Held the Exhibition Commemorative of the 60th Birthday st Soryokan,Kaga.
In 2014,Was awarded the Hakone Chokoku-no-Mori Museum Prize for the square dish “Gento-ni-Tatsu(Standing in the Severe Cold)”.
